unpacking words and boxes, as often as possible, until it's done
why these boxes?
I'm JEN SCAFFIDI and I've got fifteen years of my life packed up in these here boxes. I unpack as often as possible until the contents are organized, discarded, repurposed, or set aflame. I ruthlessly dispose of unnecessary things. And I use the whole mess as a writing exercise. We all need a little help tidying up the corners. Some of us need a little more.
...
We got those freaking boxes to the thrift store today.

Congrats! Does that mean it's over? I've enjoyed the process - you've inspired me to do a little cleaning and a good bit of writing (which we may or may not ever speak of again...depending on editing).
Nope, not even a little bit. But we did clear a huge chunk of space by relinquishing the idea of having a garage sale and donating those items which we'd been trucking around the house since October. That's a good feeling.
I'm glad this has been an inspiration to you! May I take that inspiration up a notch and challenge you to launch a writing blog? Public eyes keep me motivated and hold me accountable. I think it's good for me. I suspect it could be good for you as well.
